SAN FRANCISCO, June 16, 2023

Filipino Arts and Cinema, International (FACINE) is excited to announce its annual Call For Entries for the 30th Annual Filipino International Cine Festival to be held in San Francisco. FACINE has the distinction for being the longest-running festival of Filipino films in the diaspora.

The Festival is currently scheduled for October 20–22, 2023, and will feature in-person and online events in accordance with all public health regulations active at that time.

This year, FACINE30 will continue as a Competition event, and will consist of films that will be eligible for awards to be selected by a panel of three jury members and announced in a closing ceremony after all the screenings are completed. All competition entries should be San Francisco premieres.

Awards will be given Best Film, Direction, Performances by an Actor and Actress in Lead and Supportive roles, Writing, Editing, Cinematography, Visual Design and Aural Design. A parallel Competition for short films will also be held and eligible for Best Short Film selected by a separate panel of three jury members. A Viewer's Choice award will be chosen by online viewers to a participating online entry.

Details about the Festival’s venue footprint and in-person event structure will be shared as they become available, based on the realities of producing a safe and accessible film festival .
